Saratoga County eatery Mi Mexico Lindo Tienda y Taqueria, located in Clifton Park at 1505 Route 9, was dubbed “hands down the best birria spot around!” in a post by Angeli Rodriguez on the Facebook group 518 Eats.
“I’ve tried several places in the (area code) 518 that sell quesa birria tacos, but this little gem here!! Chef’s kiss,” reads her post from Wednesday, May 17.
Birria tacos consist of tortillas that are filled with tender stew meat that’s marinated in a mixture of chili and spices. They are then cooked on a griddle and served with consommé, a broth from the stew, and topped with onions and cilantro.
The tacos have become increasingly popular in the United States in recent years thanks to the countless mouth-watering posts seen on social media.
Mi Mexico Lindo’s menu boasts an array of other taco options, including chorizo, chicken, asada, carnitas, and shrimp.
Diners can also choose from several tortas, gorditas, flautas, and quesadillas, as well as a tres leches cake for dessert.
The restaurant, which also has a small grocery store, has garnered positive reviews online, including one Yelp user who praised its gorditas and tacos.
“They were so heavenly tasting,” the user wrote. “Everything just had so much flavor.”
Another diner raved after trying the pastor and pollo tacos.
“YUM! Finally an authentic Mexican taqueria in this area,” Maeve M., of Albany wrote on Yelp. “The pollo was well-seasoned and the pineapple on the pastor taco was a great addition. I could drink the salsa verde they have.”
Mi Mexico Lindo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
